One of my favorite things to do is watching a beautiful sunrise or sunset. There is nothing else like it. Such beauty and so peaceful. Every time I take the time to watch the amazing colors and patterns that are shown as this simple act of the sun setting is just amazing. It always brightens my mood and makes me so grateful for the beauty around me. Last Sunday Nate and I decided to make the journey up the volcano Haleakala and watch the sunset and enjoy the amazing views up there. As the sun goes down and the stars come out it is another amazing sight to behold. The stars seem so much closer, like you can reach out and grab them, and the sky is just exploding with stars.

Last Saturday was no day for the beach. It was crazy windy and rained off and on all day. So what do you do in Maui when you can't go to the beach you ask? This is what we found....
We found some pretty awesome things to keep us entertained! I seriously look like a real hot dog in that picture! It turned out to be a pretty fun day. We went to a art show at the community collage that was all about food and how it has changed over the years...quite interesting! We also went to another art show at the MAC which had some incredible stuff. Right now they are showing portraits that local artist have entered for a contest of hero's in there life. Some of the paintings looked as if they were photographs instead of paintings. Art amazes me and I often wish I had the talent but I definitely don't!

As we were driving home we ran into this amazing rainbow! This is the first full rainbow I think I have ever seen. How amazing is this! What a great way to end our relaxing and pretty eventful Saturday!

Christmas in Washington!
Nate and I headed to Washington to celebrate Christmas and a wedding with his family! The area had record snow so we were a bit nervous that we wouldn't make it but it all worked out perfectly. Although everyone wasn't thrilled to have snow I was very excited to have a white Christmas, it just doesn't feel like the holidays to me without the snow. It was a cold couple days especially since we had no winter clothes! We left all our sweaters and coats in Salt Lake when we moved so we had to survive by layering! It was a busy couple days, we were on the move the minute our plane landed but it was so fun being able to spend time with everyone! It is always a good time with lots of laughs when all the Danner's get together! Here are some pictures of Christmas morning! Kinnick and Amrie were definitely the highlight of the morning! They were so excited!
On Saturday, Jeff and Brenda were married in the Seattle temple! It was a rainy day so it was hard to get photos but the ceremony was beautiful. The reception was held at the church, which we spent many hours decorating the night before! And it turned out to be very elegant. They are so perfect for each other and we are so excited for them. Congratulation Jeff and Brenda!

Amazing!
How amazing is that cobweb! I know its kinda gross but at the same time its like art! We noticed this the other day in out front yard and I had to take a picture of it. I have never seen one so big and detailed, it reminded me of Charlotte's web, I was waiting for a message the next day when I went outside! We also have one on the deck of our house, which I really want to get rid of but we feel kinda bad destroying it. It must of been a lot of work for that spider!
This is why Nate and I have been putting on the pounds since we moved here! We decided to check out this local cafe here called Da Kitchen. While it was super tasty, we decided next time we would just get one and share! If you can't tell the one on the left has three more layers underneath of more katsu chicken. The serving size is huge! Time to get a gym membership!
Jacob, we challenge you to eating the Luau plate they serve here, its huge but we think you can do it!

A bitter sweet thanksgiving
It was a bitter sweet Thanksgiving this year! With this being our first Thanksgiving away from family, we had a few episodes of feeling homesick! We were both quite excited to make our own little turkey dinner though. We made all the preparations and with a few tips from my mom we were ready to spend the day in the kitchen making all the yummy treats! We were feeling very ambitious and even made some of my grandma's homemade cinnamon rolls, which are so tasty, as well as a homemade cherry pie! It all turned out quite well, if I do say so myself! And it was so fun to see Nate get so excited to see his pie turn out so well! But as the night came to a close and we called home and could hear all the commotion in the back ground we were wishing we were there sitting in the family room sharing a few laughs with everybody. Although we are very grateful for our friends here in Maui who have made this feel like home there is just nothing that can replace the warmth of your own family! So we are missing you all, and love ya. Can't wait to see ya all real soon!
